Expression of Interest – Reconciliation Advisory Committee Members

The Employment and Assistance Appeal Tribunal British Columbia (‘Tribunal’) is currently seeking members for its Reconciliation Advisory Committee.

The Employment and Assistance Appeal Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial agency established to determine appeals of Ministry decisions under section 17(3) of the Employment and Assistance Act, section 16(3) of the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Act, and section 6(3) of the Child Care Subsidy Act.

In line with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action, the Tribunal has established a Reconciliation Advisory Committee (the “Committee”) to work toward meeting objectives provided by the Commission. The Committee is a consultative body whose purpose is to provide knowledge, insight, and feedback on Tribunal processes and procedures.

For this opportunity, the Tribunal seeks individuals who are Indigenous and/or those who represent organizations that support the Indigenous community. Preference will be given to Indigenous individuals.

Committee Members will be appointed to a two-year term beginning immediately and a per-diem will be provided for attendance at monthly meetings (subject to operational requirements).

We thank you for your interest.

Should you wish to explore this opportunity, please contact the Tribunal Chair, Emily Drown (Emily.Drown@eaat.ca) or the Tribunal’s Director, Kenneth Sham (Kenneth.Sham@eaat.ca) for further information.

Thank you.
